Diamond in the Rough

Car must be a Datsun and is a work in progress i.e. needs paint, upholstery and/or body repair.  Car must have some work started on it since purchase or previous entry but still needs substantial work.  Slow, steady progress is fine; however 3 year maximum in this category.

Stock 1500

The engine must be a stock Datsun Roadster engine. These cars must be in stock condition as they were when originally bought with little to no modifications. Acceptable modifications include paint of any color without embedded names, stripes or graphics, stock seats upholstered in cloth, vinyl or leather and stock instruments with exception of radio/stereo which must be fitted so as not to deter from stock look of the vehicle.

Stock 1600 - Low or High windshield (Maybe combined depending on registration)

1600 will be separated into high or low windshield depending on registration. The engine must be a stock Datsun Roadster engine. These cars must be in stock condition as they were when originally bought with little to no modifications. Acceptable modifications include paint of any color without embedded names, stripes or graphics, stock seats upholstered in cloth, vinyl or leather and stock instruments with exception of radio/stereo which must be fitted so as not to deter from stock look of the vehicle.

Stock 2000 - Low or High Windshield (Maybe combined depending on registration)

These will be separated into high or low windshield. The engine must be a stock Datsun Roadster engine. These cars must be in stock condition as they were when originally bought with little to no modifications. Acceptable modifications include paint of any color without embedded names, stripes or graphics, stock seats upholstered in cloth, vinyl or leather and stock instruments with exception of radio/stereo which must be fitted so as not to deter from stock look of the vehicle.

Custom 1600 (Maybe combined with Custom 2000 depending on registration)

These cars maintain a Datsun roadster engine. Modifications include custom paint with embedded names, stripes or graphics, flairs, custom grill, power windows, deleted side trim and badging, fender flares or frenched in lights, aftermarket wheels, suspension upgrades (competition), carbs switched to Solex/Mikuni or Webber, and R16 switched to a Stroker or H20.

Custom 2000 (Maybe combined with Custom 1600 depending on registration)

These cars maintain a Datsun roadster engine. Modifications include custom paint with embedded names, stripes or graphics, flairs, custom grill, power windows, deleted side trim and badging, fender flares or frenched in lights, aftermarket wheels, suspension upgrades (competition), carbs switched to Solex/Mikuni or Webber, and R16 switched to a Stroker or H20.

Modified

This includes 1500, 1600 & 2000 models.  The engine is NOT a stock Roadster engine. For example: Engine swaps or alterations to stock engine that greatly increase performance, turbos, fuel-injection, etc.

Premiere

Premiere class is limited to those cars that won 1st place in their category the previous year.

​

JDM

All pre-1979 Datsun vehicles that are not Roadsters.
